Added value of BGM
Designing healthy workplaces
The European Commission's Strategic Framework for Health and Safety at Work (2021-2027) sets out the key priorities and measures to improve the health and safety of workers (https://osha.europa.eu/de). In its "Healthy Workplace Campaign", new targets are set every three years, taking into account current economic trends and social developments. The focus is on the significantly more sustainable improvement of work organization and working conditions (change in conditions) alongside the improvement of individual health behavior (change in behavior).
It is important for the design of health-promoting workplaces to quickly identify highly stressed activity groups by means of an accurate stress analysis. To this end, BGM is developing a stress analysis for the university setting that can effectively identify the highly stressed activity groups and enable the development of targeted measures.
Increasing employer attractiveness
On the way to becoming a workplace of the future, the University of Graz is developing the specific attractiveness factors for the position of an attractive employer. Increased visibility on various communication channels is used to disseminate the wide range of offers both internally and externally. In this context, the BGM is of particular importance, in which the BGM "...focuses on the design of health-promoting workplaces for all employees, where fair and collaborative cooperation, competence and personality development are supported" (Development Plan 2025-2030; page 52).
Contribution to social sustainability
BGM supports the sustainability strategy of the University of Graz. In the 17 Sustainable Development Goals(https://sdgs.un.org/goals), point 8 "Decent Work and Economic Growth" defines, among other things, goals that are understood under the term "decent work" as goals for achieving jobs that promote safety and well-being in the workplace (e.g. Target 8.8).
