Workplace risk assessment at the University of Graz
The University of Graz attaches great importance to regularly identifying the current psychosocial risks, stress levels and resources of its employees in the workplace in order to be able to respond appropriately. The main focus here is on risk areas that are as stable as possible over time, but also on currently relevant risks.
As part of the BGF project, the University of Graz has successfully carried out four psychosocial risk assessments since 2013.
In addition to the current situation of employees, the University of Graz is also interested in current stress situations. In the psychosocial risk assessment in 2021, for example, it was particularly relevant how employees perceived the time during the lockdown and the associated home office regulations. In addition, digital teaching was specifically addressed in 2021 in order to identify specific areas of stress in remote teaching.
At the University of Graz, surveys and workshops are carried out as part of the psychosocial risk assessment, in which all employees can participate. The assessment is carried out by safety experts and occupational psychologists at the University of Graz, and the measures are determined jointly in the BGF steering group.
